Guinevere’s Window marks a new era of creating for me. It’s a 34”x24” oil painting that was made at a very important point in my life. I built the canvas and began a piece with very little planning and failed horribly. then a second piece over the first that was even worse. All this time I was struggling with who I wanted to be and my artistic vision was suffering. Finally I start this piece and It’s everything I wanted; I stop trying to force meaning and just pour myself into the piece. Guinevere is not the name of the figure it’s the name of the canvas and the window is the white edges which in many places are sanded through to the second and first paintings on this canvas.
